Biography
Professor Einar Thorsteinsson is a Head of School for Psychology at the University of New England. His research focus is in the area of health psychology and covers adolescent health; mental health such as depression, anxiety, and wellbeing; the effects of sexual orientation on health; and adolescent coping. His research is driven by strong domestic and international collaborations including the international Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) research network.

Research Interests
Professor Einar Thorsteinsson’s research focus is in the area of health psychology including adolescent mental health, wellbeing, sleep, loneliness, diet, and coping. In Australia, Einar is working with different research networks including the Child and Family Resilience Programs (CFRP) as part of Manna that aims to "improve mental health in regional, rural, and remote Australia". International collaborations are strongly focused on the international Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) research network, a WHO collaborative study founded in 1982, that includes more than 45 countries.
