Sewer Project

Sewers. Not exactly dinner table conversation pieces, but we do have to consider them every now and again. And usually at the most inopportune moments.

EBE has been employing new technology to avoid sewer problems, and the following photos show the advantages of being proactive in maintaining  this generally overlooked service.

Remember, you are inside the sewer in these photos (which are stills taken from the videos used to identify problems and review the repair).

The repair is to pull a plastic sleeve down the sewer and then inflate and cure it with steam under pressure. This type of repair will give us 10 to 15 years of additional life before we have to excavate and replace.

The photo above shows longitudinal cracks in the sewer that will allow tree roots in and failure within a short time. The view after the repair is in place shows the smooth, complete pipe wall.

Sewer Photo No 3

This Photo on the left shows a broken sewer with roots and debris entering the pipework & the view on the right is after the repair is in place which shows the smooth, complete pipe wall.

Photo Showing Intruding Pipe

Plastic pipe intruding into sewer pipe

The photo above shows a newly laid service intruding into the sewer (the white bit at the top). The view after the repair is in place shows the slight bulge once the intrusion was removed.

Photo Showing Broken Sewer Pipe

Sewer Photo No 5

This photo shows a broken sewer where the two pieces of the pipe had settled relative to each other to create a step in the sewer. The repair shows a smooth transition from one section of pipe to the other.
