NOVA is open for business

Published 24 February 2022

During March 2022 Small Business Month, the UNE SMART Regional Incubator (UNE SRI) in Armidale will open the doors of NOVA to the public.

NOVA is the re-imagined former home of the Armidale War Memorial Library at 122 Faulkner Street, renovated to be the home of UNE SRI and a co-working space for the community.

“Everyone is welcome to drop-in,” said Cherene Spendelove, UNE SRI Community and Events.

“If you have not visited the ‘old library’ building for a while, this is a great opportunity to explore - independently, or take a guided tour!”

NOVA is an inclusive co-working space that is available for community, business, organisations, groups and individuals to book desks, meeting, presentation and workshop spaces, and other facilities including a podcast / video room.

As the home of the UNE SRI, NOVA will also be used to develop programs and opportunities that support resilient regional communities.

The space is shared with startup founders and other businesses keen to utilise the central location, facilities, and opportunities to grow.

“The building was officially opened in December. However, celebrations were quiet due to restrictions in place at the time,” Ms Spendelove said.

“Now that the new year is underway, we are keen for the whole community to know that NOVA is ‘open for business’!

”From 9am to 4.30pm on Wednesday 2 March, the community is invited to take a look around and see what is on offer at NOVA.

The open day will also launch FREE Fridays at NOVA. For March and April, everyone is welcome to take advantage of FREE Friday - an opportunity to book a NOVA hot desk for free on Fridays.
