Good Universities Guide 2024How does Early Entry work?
In the free online application you will choose up to three course preferences, which, combined with your school's recommendation, will determine the best offer of a university place — no ATAR required.
We guarantee you an offer. If not for one of your three preferences, then for an alternative course to ensure that you have the best chance of success. You will receive your offer directly from UNE in November.
Early Entry offers are made for full-time study, which means you will typically enrol in eight units over the three trimesters each year. You can change between studying on campus or online depending on your needs.
A UNE Direct Early Entry application does not exclude you from applying through UAC or to any other university, but offers a valuable guarantee of a place at the only Australian uni awarded five stars for Overall Experience 18 years in a row. (The Good Universities Guide, 2024).
Who can apply?
Early Entry is available for most degrees at UNE, for;
- current Year 12 students
- fulltime students preparing to sit the full NSW HSC in TAFE colleges in NSW and the ACT
- fulltime TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate students
Can I defer my offer?
For most courses you are offered you will also have the option to accept the offer and defer for up to two years. Please note: The Bachelor of Nursing cannot be deferred.
How to apply
Before you start your online Early Entry application, make sure you:
- select three courses you would like to study from the Early Entry course list above.
- use an email address unique to you, ensuring that it is not your school or family email address
- have relevant supporting documents in an electronic format, ready to upload to your application.
Step 1: Applying
Complete your application and then submit. Remember you can SAVE and RETURN at any time.
Your application will be sent electronically to your school for the Principal’s Report. Please ensure any additional supporting documentation is attached to your application prior to sending it. Your school will approve and submit the application to UNE on your behalf before the closing date.
Step 2: Confirming your application
You will receive an email advising you that your application has been received by UNE and outlining the next steps you can take.
Step 3: The outcome of your application
Successful applicants will receive an offer of a university place in November. You can accept your offer immediately and secure your place for 2024.
Please note: You may still be considered through the usual UAC/QTAC application process. For more information on the Universities Admission Centre, Schools Recommendation Scheme, please visit www.uac.edu.au.
