Find UNE theses

Older UNE theses

The University Library keeps copies of most Masters and PhD theses and some Honours theses. If you know the author's name or the exact title, you can find it in Library Search, just like any other item.

If the thesis you require is not in Library Search or Research UNE (RUNE), it may be held elsewhere on campus. Some schools keep copies of fourth-year Honours and theses completed as part of older Masters-level courses. Contact the relevant school.

Note that, due to school amalgamations over past decades, older Honours theses may no longer be held at the University. Contacting the author might sometimes be your best bet.

Advanced searching for theses

Obtaining copies of older theses

The original print copies of UNE theses are not available for physical loan. However, the UNE library may be able to supply a copy for the purpose of research or study under section 51(2) of the Copyright Act 1968.

Newer UNE theses

Most recent UNE theses are electronically available via the university’s repository, RUNE.

Access limits

The UNE Library is unable to provide copies of UNE theses under section 51(2) of the Copyright Act 1968 until the period of restriction (if approved) has finished, or 3 years after degree conferral, whichever comes first.

Further access conditions may apply, such as if the thesis includes culturally sensitive information.
