Unit information
The world of theatre and performance is ever evolving. Global events provide bold new opportunities for theatrical expression. Throughout your career as a creative artist you are sure to be involved in a range of projects for audiences, both large and small.
In this unit you will work on a major creative project, which could involve acting, writing, directing, design and/or producing a new work. You may choose to work on this project independently, develop or stage the project as part of the non-mandatory intensive school, participate in the on-campus Major Production, or take a leadership role in a community production or event. Whichever option you choose, you will develop technical, dramaturgical and creative practice skills and demonstrate how you work collaboratively with others. You will make connections between the theory and practice of theatre-making and hone your ability to communicate these ideas effectively.
To ensure the creative project is appropriate to meet the learning outcomes, students must apply to the unit coordinator for permission to enrol at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the Trimester.

We understand the challenges faced by busy adults studying at home. We know that a vital part of online study is your engagement with the learning community. Communication with your classmates, teaching staff and university support staff will enhance your study experience and ensure that your skills extend beyond the subject matter. UNE’s teaching staff are experts in their field which is why UNE consistently receives five stars from students for teaching quality, support and overall experience.*
