Unit information
In this capstone unit, you will pursue an independent music project in performance practice, composition, music technology, musicology, or a combination of any of these areas.
You will develop specialised knowledge and skills in your area(s) of choice through a range of methodologies and practices used in professional work environments, and prepare yourself a pathway for further learning.
You will be guided by area experts in the design, management and completion of an individually tailored music project, with the opportunity for feedback on your project from your peers.
Please ensure that you inform the Unit Coordinator of your chosen areas(s) for your music project no less than two weeks before the commencement of the trimester.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- apply knowledge in the field of music to define, plan and appropriately communicate a practical project or research topic in their area of specialisation;
- apply relevant disciplinary methods and processes in the field of music to develop a topic or project in either composition and production, musicology or performance;
- research, evaluate and synthesise ideas and sources independently; and
- organise and present project ideas and outcomes coherently via appropriate modes of expression, including written, verbal and/or with the aid of multi-media technologies.
