Unit information
This unit will equip you with an introduction to the theory of translation and its practical application.
You will be guided into the art of translation, and how to avoid its pitfalls.
As the material to be translated is directly taken from the Discover UNE App, it also offers the opportunity for you to engage with the history of the University of New England and its community.
Not only will you build your understanding of key theories and concepts, but you will develop your knowledge of your target language to an advanced level.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental concepts of translation;
- apply theoretical and conceptual knowledge of translation to the production of translation from English into a target language;
- demonstrate and apply knowledge of target language; and
- develop writing and aural skills in the target language.
