Unit information
Undertaking responsible research requires you to understand the field, learning what has been done and what needs to be done. Your skills in these tasks will be increased by conducting a systematic research literature review in Depression or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Studying this unit, you will hone your research skills and learn how to develop a testable scientific research question and posit hypotheses. You will build on your scientific writing skills and learn how to plan your research project so that the end results can be produced.
Focusing initially on a critical review of the literature in the field, you will develop an in-depth, integrated understanding of the complex body of neuroscience knowledge regarding ASD and Depression. You will have opportunities to extend your capacity for critical and analytical thinking, autonomy and adaptability, honing your ability to communicate with specialist and non-specialist audiences.

Good Universities Guide 2024Studying online
At UNE we know it takes more than just being online to be a great online university. It takes time and experience. We pioneered distance education for working adults back in the 1950s, so we’ve been doing this longer than any other Australian university.
We understand the challenges faced by busy adults studying at home. We know that a vital part of online study is your engagement with the learning community. Communication with your classmates, teaching staff and university support staff will enhance your study experience and ensure that your skills extend beyond the subject matter. UNE’s teaching staff are experts in their field which is why UNE consistently receives five stars from students for teaching quality, support and overall experience.*
