Unit information
This unit completes the Social Work in Practice series, consolidating what you have learned in HSSW111, HSSW222 and HSSW333.
During your face-to-face, mandatory intensive school, you will explore key aspects of intervention and skills development as you near the end of your degree. Simulated learning will focus on skillsets required in interventions in social work practice and high-level teamwork skills alongside interdisciplinary practice to achieve positive client outcomes.
This unit will also continue to reinforce communication, teamwork, problem-solving, critical-thinking and reflexivity skills within a social work context.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- identify key aspects of intervention in social work practice;
- demonstrate the skills required in interventions in social work practice;
- discuss their understanding of high-level teamwork skills and interdisciplinary practice; and
- demonstrate a developed understanding of effective communication, team-work, problem-solving, critical and reflexive thinking skills through a social work lens.
