Unit information
One of the challenges of language learning is understanding how and when to use variations in the language when communicating with different groups of people.
In this unit you will be introduced to socio-linguistic aspects of the use of Spanish such as dialectal variations and bilingualism, through a study of basic Spanish phonetics and phonology.
Special emphasis will be put on practical aspects of both the pronunciation and the correct spelling of the language. You will learn to apply and decode phonetic transcription to effectively render spoken utterances in Spanish, including specific sound, stress and intonation patterns.
Ensure that you are able to communicate clearly and accurately in Spanish with this specialised unit delivered remotely.
