Unit information
Extend your knowledge using real-life case scenarios to explore the range of acute and chronic neurological, endocrine and musculoskeletal conditions that affect people across the lifespan.
This unit will help to develop your capacity to plan and implement holistic, person-centred nursing care in varied settings.
Focusing on applied anatomy and physiology, assessment, pathophysiology, diagnostics and pharmacology, you will develop a well-rounded understanding of these conditions and their management.
Examine concepts central to safe and effective nursing practice, and hone your assessment, clinical reasoning and reflective practice skills relating to endocrine, neurological and musculoskeletal health and wellbeing. Underpinned throughout by the ethical and legal concepts applied to evidence-based care, you will also explore intra and interprofessional communication, partnerships in care, health promotion and geographical contexts of nursing practice.

Good Universities Guide 2024Studying online
At UNE we know it takes more than just being online to be a great online university. It takes time and experience. We pioneered distance education for working adults back in the 1950s, so we’ve been doing this longer than any other Australian university.
We understand the challenges faced by busy adults studying at home. We know that a vital part of online study is your engagement with the learning community. Communication with your classmates, teaching staff and university support staff will enhance your study experience and ensure that your skills extend beyond the subject matter. UNE’s teaching staff are experts in their field which is why UNE consistently receives five stars from students for teaching quality, support and overall experience.*
