Unit information
This unit will build your ability to foster collaborative inquiry approaches to professional learning in schools. It is designed specifically to help school leaders engage in innovation through collaborative inquiry.
It covers a wide range of topics associated with educational leadership, school improvement and design. You will engage in deep inquiry to collaboratively examine what’s happening for student, teacher and leader learning in the context of your educational setting.
The unit provides tools ideally suited to school leaders to enable a systematic reflective process to leadership. These capabilities include establishing vision and values, fostering innovation and improvement, implementing strategy and solutions, engaging with people, enhancing performance, and promoting health and happiness.
You will also demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of these capabilities through completing two small case studies where you’ll detail how you have engaged in reflection both in and on action.

Good Universities Guide 2024Studying online
At UNE we know it takes more than just being online to be a great online university. It takes time and experience. We pioneered distance education for working adults back in the 1950s, so we’ve been doing this longer than any other Australian university.
We understand the challenges faced by busy adults studying at home. We know that a vital part of online study is your engagement with the learning community. Communication with your classmates, teaching staff and university support staff will enhance your study experience and ensure that your skills extend beyond the subject matter. UNE’s teaching staff are experts in their field which is why UNE consistently receives five stars from students for teaching quality, support and overall experience.*
