Unit information
By gaining practical experience and applying coursework theory to workplace situations during your studies, you should be in a good position to prepare for and enter permanent avenues of employment following the completion of your degree.
The purpose of ‘Practical Experience’ is to provide students with opportunities to examine how properties and various agribusinesses are managed, to identify the factors which limit production and efficient resource management, to develop skills in the assessment of management and to relate components of the curriculum to agricultural practice.
Bachelor of Rural Science and Bachelor of Rural Science (Hons) candidates must complete 16 weeks (PRACRURSC) of practical experience as prescribed by the School.
Practical experience is a mandatory part of your Environmental and Rural Science course. You must complete this in order to graduate. Get in touch with a course coordinator to discuss your options.

Good Universities Guide 2024Studying online
At UNE we know it takes more than just being online to be a great online university. It takes time and experience. We pioneered distance education for working adults back in the 1950s, so we’ve been doing this longer than any other Australian university.
We understand the challenges faced by busy adults studying at home. We know that a vital part of online study is your engagement with the learning community. Communication with your classmates, teaching staff and university support staff will enhance your study experience and ensure that your skills extend beyond the subject matter. UNE’s teaching staff are experts in their field which is why UNE consistently receives five stars from students for teaching quality, support and overall experience.*
